What a way to end off the BMX season! With 400+ entries to this weekend’s Grand’s, Alberta showed the rest of the country where BMX is at!  And if Alberta is where it’s at, looking at the results below I think that makes Airdrie the capital city of BMX!

It was an amazing weekend of racing with no shortage of exciting races.

 Saturday was the final race of the provincial series, where riders raced against others in their age and category. It was the race to cap off other races that took riders to Olds, Edmonton, Medicine Hat, and St.Albert. It was a lot of early mornings, both cold and hot days, and lots of practice that got the riders to Saturday’s finally.

Sunday brought us to the Alberta championships; or the grand daddy of the Alberta races. Here riders raced in their age group, not category. So that meant novice, intermediate, and experts were all riding against each other. This also meant they were racing upwards of 31 riders. Anyone getting a plate here has a lot to proud of!

A special thank you goes out to the coaches and to all of the parents, without you we wouldn’t have been there.
